Krug, 27, had 59 points and 14 goals last year, after 51 points the year before, and the Bruins probably feel Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk can pick up his offence. Chiasson, 27, will have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup along with the rest of the Capitals despite not actually suiting up during their series against the Vegas Golden Knights. Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse is one of the more prominent remaining restricted free agents and the belief for quite some time has been that he will inevitably sign a short-term bridge contract. If Edmonton Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli is looking to change the dynamic of his team and defenceman Oscar Klefbom is one of their few bargaining chips, what does that mean?
Edmonton Oilers Trade Rumors: GM Peter Chiarelli Still Looking to Add a Defenseman
Hall has averaged over 20 goals per season on the offensively devoid Oilers. Taylor Hall is a great player and very few people would argue with that, but he has not proven to be durable throughout his career. The other drawback of adding Hall would be the price the Penguins would have to pay and his contract.
The focus of the article is not on the trade offer, but what each player could bring to the Penguins. While Taylor Hall is a proven commodity, Nail Yakupov is not. Despite being the first overall pick in the entry draft, Yapukov has failed to consistently produce in the NHL. In career games played, Nail has scored 42 goals, assisted on 46 more for a total of 88 points and is frightening skater.
If the Penguins were to acquire Yakupov he would most certainly play on the second line, alongside star center Evgeni Malkin. He is a skilled player who just has not transitioned very well, but there is still hope for the 21 year-old forward.
Not just on the ice, but off the ice, someone Malkin can confide in and feel comfortable with because despite what the public thinks, the 28 year-old Russian center is not fully comfortable in America and has felt isolated at times.

None of these players is being shopped, but the respective general managers are certainly listening to lots of calls with the NHL Draft looming in Dallas, and Chiarelli knows Krug better than anybody.
Krug, 27, had 59 points and 14 goals last year, after 51 points the year before, and the Bruins probably feel Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk can pick up his offence. The negatives with Krug, who broke his ankle slamming into the boards in the playoffs, is he shoots left and the Oilers still have Darnell Nurse, Kris Russell and Andrej Sekdera in that boat.
But Krug has points his last two seasons and could be a first PP guy. As for Ristolainen, sources in Buffalo say the Sabres would listen to any offers except for Jack Eichel and first-round draft centre Casey Mittelstadt. Ristolainen has played games, Klefbom Ristolainen is better offensively but not as good without the puck. In a lot of of ways, Kassian should be a clone of Capitals forward Tom Wilson.
Here are some options for the Oilers should they draft a defenseman. The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to fill several needs this summer. When it comes to the NHL Draft, the Oilers could fill a long term need by adding a future top four defenseman. Reasonably priced NHL trade options could include Detroit’s Andreas Athanasiou, Calgary’s Sam Bennett, and Ottawa’s Mike Hoffman. The Oilers should have signed Thomas Vanek last offseason and could look at signing him this year. However, after the 23 year-old’s rough season, his trade value might have fallen and this would be a blockbuster trade that Pittsburgh would not regret. Hall has averaged over 20 goals per season on the offensively devoid Oilers.
